Hi team!

I've had a connection issue...after completed all the steps in the user guide, the sync between zotero and notion was still not successful. It report the error as "not authorized by notion". And in Notion, the connection of Notero seems to be fine...Here I've also attached the error codes for reference. Looking forward to your reply! Thanks!

Hi @houseffy, thanks for reporting this and sharing screenshots.

The error you're encountering is caused by not having a Notion access token stored in Zotero—even though the Notero integration has permission to Notion as seen in your last screenshot. I have a hunch you may be encountering the issue described in #639.

Are you able to follow all the steps in the below video so that the name of your Notion workspace appears in the Notero Preferences window?

If you get to the last step and the Notero Preferences window does not refresh to show your Notion workspace, then you may need follow the workaround described here.

Hey @dvanoni , thanks for the reply! I'm using Windows as my OS and tried both solutions. Neither worked out. However, I've found a solution - uninstall zotero and re-install it under a different path (choose customize - not under C: because it requires admin permission to change anything for zotero). And the connection worked out perfectly after that! Hope this would help other uses :)

I'm glad you got it working, @houseffy! I suspect that reinstalling Zotero re-registered the zotero:// URL protocol so that it could correctly open Zotero as expected.
