Depending on the implementation, a VWF could work as an alternative to #98 , while also improving readability.

caveats to consider:

  • if the averange glyph size is the same of the current monospace font it will have no effect on the dialogs splitting
  • risk of messing some game timings by altering the number of cycles used by some subroutine (e.g. status msgs shown during battles)

The old implementation here could be used as a starting point for a rewrite, but it is not usable currently:
