Support for S3 hosted assets

I am wondering if the EDC supports S3 as a way to store and retrieve asset files instead of Azure Storage.
I tried to take inspiration from the Technology-Aws repo and but I could not get it to work.
If the feature already exists, can someone refer me to a documentation?

hey, as you already found out there's already an S3 extension that can be used.
please take a look at this sample, it shows how that extension could be used.

I tried the example and it works fine.
I do have another question though: do you know if it is possible to change the AWS endpoint using configurations?
The reason I am asking that is because I deployed a Minio instance locally and tried the environment variables

• EDC_AWS_ENDPOINT_OVERRIDE as proposed in edc aws-s3-core)
• AWS_ENDPOINT_URL as well as AWS_ENDPOINT_URL_S3 : aws client options (I had hoped they would work for the extension as well)

However none of them worked. Upon further research I found no straight-forward way of doing this. So I was wondering if you have a solution.

endpoint override should be the way to go, if you set the endpointOverride in the DataAddress that should work, I think the configuration settings is like a default fallback, that should work actually, if not, you could raise a discussion/issue in the https://github.com/eclipse-edc/Technology-Aws repository
