A File should offer an option to link a file to another file.

Use case:

  1. (Relative) timing constraints e.g. in XDC files can be linked to a VHDL entity in a VHDL source file via SCOPE_TO_REF property. When ever that entity is instantiated, the XDC content is applied relatively to the instantiation path.
  2. Waveform configuration files can be associated to the top-level simulation source code file.
