Describe the enhancement:

With the implementation in #6619 the elastic agent starts waiting 1 hour between checkins if it runs into 7 authentication errors. The agent should gradually ramp up to 1 hour wait time in between checkins.

What is the definition of done?

  • Have tests that assert that the agent gradually ramps up to the designated wait time between checkins
  • The agent ramps up to 1 hour wait time in between checkins if it runs into 7 auth errors
