When a visualization is displayed in a dashboard panel, the provided interactivity by the chart can be considered:
ephemeral: like brush-to-filter, a click or a drill-down that doesn't save the status in the dashboard/visualization but propagates temporary state change (reduced time range, a filtered element, etc)
persistent: I'd like to save a particular state change of the visualization and persist it (e.g., keep a specific column size for a table, and hide by default a series from the legend).
This distinction today doesn't exist and in particular the persistent mode is not present.
I believe we need to understand exactly which actions/changes can be persisted and which are just temporarily and doesn't require being saved.
