Currently it seems not to be possible to use the role mapping feature of shield for custom realms. Would be great to include this.

Could you provide some details on what you'd like to map to a role? Right now, we implement mapping a Distinguished Name to a role and if the custom realm is mapping something other than a DN, this would not work. I'd like to make sure we have the proper interface in place before exposing this.

I'd like to map a arbitrary username to roles (because not every Realm deals necessarily with DNs). For the kerberos realm a username/principal looks like "[email protected]".
