The current version shows energy production and storage e.g. "biomass, geothermal, hydro, solar" in the graph.
Under the graph you see the tags "stored" and "produced". There it doesn't show the total amount of energy "stored" and "produced" that hour. You have to calculate that yourself.

Same for the total amount "Imported" and "exported" every hour. We have to calculate it ourselves if a country has net imported or exported that hour.

I would suggest to add the total "Produced" and "Stored" that hour. That can be in the graph, or as a number.
Also for the second item, I would suggest to have the import / export stat in text or in graph.

See the image below for an example of the current situation

you don't have to calculate it, it's displayed when you hover a source.

We are currently re-working the charts (as you can probably tell) and I'll make sure this feedback is taken into account but I can't promise we will make any changes in regards to this in particular.

@Alportan for visibility, I've also seen this request elsewhere FYI

Thanks. Hope this feedback will be used for the rework

Thanks for your input @Killerbert ! 🙏

Based on your feedback, it seems you're looking for aggregate totals in the visualization. Specifically:

1. For energy production and storage: Would you like to see the total amount produced from all sources combined (wind + solar + biomass + etc.) and the total amount stored for each hour?
2. For energy import/export: Are you requesting the total imported/exported value for each hour, rather than having displayed individually?

Is this correct? Or did you mean having the individual totals for each source, which as @phiphou mentioned, they can be seen in the tooltips, but maybe that's too hidden?

Adding totals for each source may supercharge the UI in my opinion.

I think the global total for a given period is enough, don't you think.

Furthermore EM now displays a lot of different datas, we may think about an easy and an expert mode, one with just important ones and another with full informations.

This is off this specific issue but let me know if I may open an issue for this idea or if it's totally unreasonable.

I fully agree, I'm just trying to understand the request better. 🙌

As you said, we already have a lot of information in our app, so I would proceed with caution to add even more. I do think that if the tooltips aren't discoverable, where we might want to somehow make it clearer that they are interactive. 🤓 But that would be more of a UX issue.

We've actually discussed introducing a simple/advanced view, and we've already started looking into our current Information Architecture as a first step to this.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this idea. To avoid cluttering up GitHub, may I ask you to forward them to [email protected] instead? 🙏
