Outcome

What did you expect?

No upgrade without warning me of incompatibility. Refusal to upgrade because of incompatibility. Message indicating inability to upgrade because of incompatibility.

What happened instead?

Upgrade occurred without warning, leaving my desktop version unusable.

macOS 10.13.6

1.11.52

According to #1315 (comment) it's an issue in the update framework, i. e. Squirrel/Squirrel.Mac#275 …

The solution for now is to downgrade & disable auto-updates: #1315 (comment)
