Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable a maximized widget
  2. Send a image file as a message on the chat panel
  3. Reply in thread
  4. Send the same file to the thread

Outcome

What did you expect?

Consistent spacing, alignment, and placement of elements. The chat panel should follow #21759 (comment) as well.

What happened instead?

  • The time string is displayed differently (position and font size).
  • Spacing between the avatar and the username is not consistent.
  • Padding around the image looks inconsistent (especially padding-bottom).

See the image below (from matrix-org/matrix-react-sdk#8312 (comment))

Also, on Bubble message layout there are regressions on the chat panel. See: #21774
