This is in a VirtualBox VM for now, unable to test on bare metal at the moment due to another issue with installer claiming my 100mb EFI partition is too small.

Unable to copy the text of the installer console but the last line is something like:

ERROR: partitioning error: failed to commit logical partitions...

vgcreate failed with status: 5 (input/output error) os error 5.

I THINK there is a very similar but filed. I know that I ran up against the same error installing to the metal and @Schykle filed it

@vjr is this still a valid issue in the installer? I think there may have been some changes in distinst since this issue was filed that could have effected this

@danrabbit give me a day or two to re test this issue and I'll either update or close.

I just retested the daily ISO 20210825 in a VirtualBox VM and this issue only occurs after I install successfully the first time and then restart the VM to boot the ISO installer a second time regardless of whether or not the EFI option is enabled.

I'm taking the "erase and install" flow and selecting the same virtual disk both times and choosing the "don't encrypt" option, which fails on the second run.

It looks like the same issue as or related to #584 so I'll go ahead and close this one.
