Hooking up Gmail ending in a Settings app crash

Hi,

Whenever I go to hook up my personal, school, or alternate Gmail account, I am greeted with a settings app freeze followed by a computer making a sad face and a "System Settings has stopped working" or "io.elementary.switchboard has stopped working." Is this just a bug, or am I doing something wrong? I've tried this on my dad's wifi, mom's wifi, school wifi, my phone's hotspot, etc with no success. Please help
