I would like to get support for the YouTube Music app. At the moment, when trying to connect the application to Kodi, nothing happens

I think this isn't even supported by real chromecast devices, see https://support.google.com/youtubemusic/thread/173898?hl=en

You would imho need an extra piece of software, like a chrome addon, to achieve this on the site of the sender.

In fact, I do not mean the web version of YouTube Music, but the application for Android / iOS. The SmartTV application supports playing YTMusic from a phone similarly to the YouTube application, but for some reason YTMusic cannot connect to the TubeCast add-on

Kodi does show up as a cast device in Youtube Music app on Android, but the pairing process doesn't seem to work.

What would be the best option to debug this myself to help a bit?

It won't be as easy as you think. First step is to find out what app url is youtube music expecting. It might be easier to use leapcast to look into it than Kodi/tubecast.
First step is finding out the url of the webapplication youtube music uses. Maybe with leapcast you can get some logging as part of the pairing process

Thanks for the info, I'll try to dig into it when I got some time.

No sadly just ended up buying an old v1 Chromecast for music needs.

I see, it's probably my turn to find some time to look into it then ;)

@enen92 Is the leapcast still the best place to start ?
