Demo

SSH key setup

NOTE: This step is mandatory to succesfully run ares-novacom and other commands sitting on it such as ares-install and ares-launch.

Please refer to SSH-KEY-SETUP.md for intructions.

Get the bits

XXX FIXME: check URL

  • Go to: Enyo-package-ares-SDK-xplat

  • Download the apporiate package for your platform (Mac, Windows, Linux). Note, the ide packages contain both Ares and the command line interface (CLI) tools. The cli package contains only the CLI tools.

  • Unzip/untar the package onto your machine, e.g.:

      $ tar -xzf ares-webos-ide-mac.tgz
    

Set the PATH

  • On Windows:

      C:Users\Joe> set PATH=%PATH%;C:\path\to\ares-ide
    
  • On Linux & Mac OSX:

      $ export PATH=$PATH:/path/to/ares-ide/bin
    

Generate a new app

$ cd /path/to/your/project
$ ares-generate.sh -l
bootplate-2.1.1-owo	Enyo bootplate 2.1.1  
$ ares-generate.sh -t bootplate-2.1.1-owo -p id=com.myapp -p title=MyApp MyApp
Generating bootplate-2.1.1-owo in /path/to/your/project/MyApp

Package the app

$ ares-package.sh MyApp`  
Minify-ing Enyo...  
Minify-ing the application...  
Success:  the deployable application is available in:  /Users/ares/MyApp/deploy/MyApp  
Packaging minified output: /Users/ares/MyApp/deploy/MyApp  
Creating package com.myapp_0.0.1_all.ipk in /Users/ares


####Install and launch the template app####

`$ ares-install.sh com.myapp_0.0.1_all.ipk  `  
Installing package com.app_0.0.1_all.ipk  
`$ ares-launch.sh com.myapp`  
Launching application com.app   

####Launch Ares in default Web browser####

`$ ares-ide.sh`
