This is a template that contains materials to create a shiny gadget application for assessment 2. You will need the following packages installed to generate the gadget from this template:
install.packages(c("shiny", "crosstalk", "plotly", "DT", "tidyverse", "here", "scales", "glue"))This assessment is an interactive web application using the shiny framework, I have tired to reproduce two interactive graphics from the Our World in Data website on the topic of air pollution. The shiny frame work can be found at Github repository. The ‘Chart’ panel contains a plot created with plotly which shows Access to clean fuels for cooking vs. GDP per capita. The ‘Table’ panel contains an interactive table that give details about Access to clean fuels and technologies for cooking (% of population).
To run the shiny framework, open the app.R present in the folder(shiny-assessment-ratuwadhwa) and click on Run App(top right on editor). This will pop a new window where we can explore the interactive graphics and play around the different features of the plot. The features include toggling between a linear axis and a log axis on the chart, hides data points, selects a year on the slider, hovering and highlighting etc. The slider on the chart tab can also be used to change selections in the table tab, i.e the table updates according to a change from the selection input and slider provided in the chart tab.
