Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
If the irc.fdgt.dev server is unreachable, we're kind of stuck.

Describe the solution you'd like
Both or one of those:

  • Documentation to run the IRC server locally as a manual replacement of irc.fdgt.dev.
  • An API on the npm package so we could import it in another project and programmatically start and stop it. With that, it would be possible to write unit tests that use this mock twitch IRC with no dependency to an external server. It would be pretty neat.

I wanted to let you know that this is definitely in the pipeline. I definitely intend to release it as an npm package, and I'd love to come up with a good way to release it as a binary via package management systems for other languages since fdgt isn't a JavaScript-only thing. I don't have an ETA for this, but I'll definitely get an RFC together at some point.
