Background
Building an generic 61850 interface is a challenge. A better understanding is needed to have a shared picture of the challenges across the community. Idea is to have a clear understanding.

List of choices (no need to be complete) to make in such approach

Alternatives to a super generic interface (e.g. start with support for a limited about of LN in the beginning, Gateway style moddeling); Data forwarding server.
