Fluent bit custom config file

Hi, I am new to Fluent bit and trying to run a config file, I am on MAC OS and have the initial setup which looks to be working fine (I am saying this because I am getting the info as mentioned in docs like

[0] dummy.0: [1644362033.676766000, {"message"=>"dummy"}]
[0] dummy.0: [1644362034.676914000, {"message"=>"dummy"}]

now I created a custom config file as

[INPUT]
    Name        tail
    Path        /Users/xyz/Desktop/logs/report_test.log

[OUTPUT]
    Name file
    Match *
    Path /Users/xyz/Desktop/test_output.log

When I start fluent bit as fluent-bit -c /Users/ramzan/Documents/fluent-bit/conf/flb-test.conf its starts and give some info

[2022/07/05 16:22:29] [ info] [storage] in-memory
[2022/07/05 16:22:29] [ info] [storage] normal synchronization mode, checksum disabled, max_chunks_up=128
[2022/07/05 16:22:29] [ info] [cmetrics] version=0.2.2
[2022/07/05 16:22:29] [ info] [output:file:file.0] worker #0 started
[2022/07/05 16:22:29] [ info] [sp] stream processor started

even if I put the wrong path it starts the service with the above info.
it stays here, I want it to write the logs from my input file to the output file.

Are you continuously writing to the file specified? By default Fluent Bit will only read the latest messages

If you want to test from the beginning of the file you will need to specify the read_from_head parameter
