Error in setup after upgrading to nvim 0.10.0

I'm receiving the error

E5113: Error while calling lua chunk: vim/loader.lua:0: attempt to call upvalue '' (a nil value)

on startup, but can't figure out how to resolve it.

I've tried removing all the additional config I have and clearing all cached files.

My init.lua file matches that in the Installation guide.

That is really odd. Try deleting ~/.cache/nvim/luac/

Then I really think something's broken with your Neovim installation.
The error you're seeing is not even lazy. That's the Neovim lua cache that's being used by at least everyone that uses lazy.nvim.

If something would be broken there, I would know...

Yep, seems there was an issue with the nvim install.

I experienced this error when I ran brew reinstall neovim.

It was fixed when I installed the pre compiled binaries in neovim's release
