When watching disassembly or repair videos, sometimes the camera does not capture the necessary details clearly. Not every video has perfect framing or focus, and small components might be hard to see.
Currently, the best way to zoom in is using the Windows magnifier, which is not very convenient. Having a built-in zoom and pan function in Grayjay would improve the viewing experience, allowing users to focus on critical areas without external tools.
This feature would be useful for:
Watching repair/disassembly videos where small details matter.
Following educational or instructional content where zooming in is necessary.
Enhancing accessibility for users with vision impairments.
Would it be possible to integrate this feature into Grayjay? Thank you for considering this request!
Proposal
A built-in Zoom & Pan feature could be added to Grayjay to improve the viewing experience for users who need to focus on small details in videos.
How it might work:
Zooming in and out:
CTRL + Mouse Scroll Wheel → Zoom in and out smoothly (similar to how web browsers handle zooming).
Panning (moving around the zoomed-in area):
Right Mouse Button (Hold) + Mouse Move → Move the zoomed-in area by dragging.
Reset Zoom:
Double-click on the video → Instantly reset to default zoom level.
Additional considerations:
The zoom level should reset when switching videos.
A small overlay indicator (like a mini-map) could show the zoomed-in area relative to the full video.
If performance is a concern, the zoom feature could be an optional toggle in the settings.
Would this be feasible within Grayjay’s current design? Looking forward to your thoughts!
