We have a plan to offer a data mobilisation call for 2025. I have prepared a template for the call.

The prioritizations must be dicussed. At the previous call we had these prioritizations in the application:
Species or species groups for which few data are available
Data on pollinating species
Environment DNA data (or other DNA sequence data)
Ecological sampling event data
Datasets that contribute to a national Norwegian coverage for a species or species group including harmonized datasets from multiple collaborating institutions?
Will this project finalize data publication of data from another research project?
Data of particular value for conservation of crop wild relative species.
Data of particular value for red listing assessments of threatened or alien species.

Please comment on these prioritizations and propose other prioritizations for the next call.

How about:

Priority

  • Marine species --> OBIS GBIF Norway node, https://oceanexpert.org/group/565
    • Marine species or species groups for which few data are available
    • This GBIF Norway 5-year period has a focus on mobilizing marine biodiversity. And we are now registered as an OBIS node. And OBIS links are prioritized by the GBIF Secretariate.
  • Environment DNA data (or other DNA sequence data) --> Metabarcoding toolkit, https://mdt.gbif.no/
    • (Publish using the MDT)
    • Mobilizing metabarcoding data AND testing the Metabarcoding toolkit is a priority set by the GBIF Secretariat.
  • New data publishers based in Norway (Datasets from Norwegian institutions not yet publishing datasets in GBIF)
    • (Require new institutions to register in ROR)

And maybe mentioning the other criteria as positive for the evaluation (but not of the highest priority).

(Maybe datasets exploring the new GBIF data model could be another priority - however, these would probably still be only in testing mode... Personally, I would have been very pleased to prioritize explore datasets exploring the new Darwin Core MaterialEntity class -- BUT this is not yet available in GBIF.)
