At the node meeting 2024-09-18 we discussed creating a GBIF Norway rollup poster which we can print when we need it for conferences and other events.

  • Michal offers to look at creating a dynamic webpage that can be printed but needs help with layout and illustrations.
  • Vidar offers to help with creating a static poster in InDesign but also asks for help with selecting illustrations and layout
  • Katrine offers to look at a draft for a poster

Hi,
In the meeting yesterday we talked about making a poster describing GBIF Norway. I can probably help to make this poster. I have made several posters before and I have the software (Adobe Indesign) available. It will not be a "dynamic" version, but I can make a PDF version that can be used for printing and downloading from the web page.
We must agree on the size, figures and text that should be included. Then I can start to make a proposal.

I can also review the design and suggest improvements once we have a first draft. In addition to the poster that we can bring to conferences and meetings, I propose creating an A4 sign with the GBIF logo stating something like, "Here you can get help publishing your biodiversity data." For assistance with publishing to GBIF and OBIS, please contact.... This sign could be displayed on the boards of institutions where we have GBIF Norway node members.

This was discussed again at the 2024-10-30 node meeting. Andreas needs the roll-up printed and available before 2024-11-28 for the Havforskerkonferanse.

We need a PDF of the roll-up design in width 80 cam and height 200 cm
Preferably a simple design without too many details.
No specific numbers of number of records or similar.
A QR code linking to one or more of the webpages below would be useful

We can then print the roll-up at https://www.uio.no/english/services/print/index.html

I have ordered a copy from the printing service at the University of Oslo. I will get the poster next week. If it looks as expected I will order more copies to be distributed.
