NTXUKS Model not communicating

I have a NTXUKS12A112BA and a NTXWST12A112A. The NTXWST works great, using an huzzah32 ESP32 breakout board, no pullup resistors, no issues at all and worked great out of the box.

With the NTXUKS I've had no luck at all. I've tried multiple boards including an ESP-01s with breakout boards, with pull-up resistors, it just won't respond. I'm wondering if Mitsubishi may have changed up the protocol for these head units?
