You can set the starting frame of a movie file by embedding a timecode in your movie file. With the command-line ffmpeg utility:
That will start the movie at 1 min. |

mrv2 v1.3.1 beta on sourceforge added a Preferences->Timeline->Start Video Frame for setting the frame start of video clips only (sequences and .otio files are not modified by this). |

I realized the vesion I compiled yesterday had a bug that would display the thumbnails in the panels without the offset. I am compiling a new version now. It should be in sourceforge's beta in a couple of hours. |

I would like to change the in-point of a single video file to synchronize it with the frame range of a shot I'm working on. With image sequences mrv2 shows the correct numbers but I was not able to change the default start frame of 0.
I also think starting at 1 per default would be more intuitive since you know exactly how many frames a video contains, e.g. the last frame equals total frame count. A custom start point is helpful anyway because in pipelines you often start at 1001 or want to have an offset for handles or because it's the start point within a larger edit.
I didn't find any settings for that and was not able to set an offset in the timeline. Is there a way to do it currently?
Btw, mrv2 is an amazing tool already, thanks for all your work!
