GTK Titlebar: not showing system title bar

I'm using Fedora 41 with Gnome 47.3, When GTK Titlebar is disabled only a simple system title bar should appear. But after a latest update the function is broken and don't even show a title bar. It is super annoying some one hellllppp

Gnome does not support server side decorations so if you disable the GTK titlebar you get no titlebar at all.

Sorry for the late reply. But when I first installed Ghostty the setting was working fine and after a update it broke. I hate the cluttered GTK Titlebar with tabs and everything 😩

The reason it worked in 1.0.0 was a GTK quirk. You cant ask GTK to draw a native titlebar with CSD (which was all that was supported before). Fixing some other titlebar related issues made whatever happen stop happening

My use case:

• Cinnamon DE
  • Doesn't support Wayland - not expected until 2026 at the earliest
  • Supports window "shading", i.e. rolling the window up into the titlebar
    • This is a major part of how I interact with my desktop
• AFAICT, the Adwaita/GTK titlebar does not lend itself to window shading
  • For this reason, I was using the following in my config

    • gtk-titlebar = false
      gtk-adwaita = false
      window-decoration = true
      

  • As per the link above, and as documented by OP this does not work any more

Hence, I herewith beg the ghostty team (Cc: @mitchellh) to reconsider Server Side Decoration support for Xorg - i.e. finding a way to support it.

You are free to maintain a fork for your specifc usecase but there was not an easy way to do it on x11 and there is not a reason to support 8 different ways to draw a titlebar when you are using a toolkit like GTK

(also like stated above the fact there was even a native titlebar before was a complete accident you cant ask GTK to do it with CSD)
