Linux: A thin border around the terminal appeared after an update to 1.1.0

System Info: Arch with i3

After an update to 1.1.0, a thin border between the window border and the terminal surface appeared. Hopefully, the image below is not too small. The orange line is the window border, and the lighter line after it is something that wasn't present before.

window-decoration changed recently, I'm not sure if it still accepts false; try window-decoration = none.

Unfortunately, this does not help. According to the docs:

For the sake of backwards compatibility and convenience, this setting also accepts boolean true and false values. If set to true, this is equivalent to auto. If set to false, this is equivalent to none.

Is this also not the native window border for i3? Sway has something similar where it surrounds the active window with a border

It's a regular border I set on all windows with default_border pixel 1
ghostty, however, ignores this setting, so I had to explicitly set for_window [class="^com.mitchellh.ghostty$"] border pixel 1 for it to be displayed

This is the window style when using libadwaita. If you dislike it, then feel free to edit it out via the custom CSS feature. Disabling Adwaita altogether is not recommended as a) we intend to only support Adwaita builds starting from 1.2 because b) certain features are only available when using libadwaita. See 1.1 Release Notes for more detail.

UPDATE: It appears that this can be mitigated. See #5581

The error persists on tip, i still have the white border, even with window-decoration = server

It is the same as the screenshot i already provided, no values for window-decoration remove the border, the only change for the server value is the i3 titlebar being shown:

Try setting window-padding-{x,y} to 0 and/or set your background to be the same as your shell theme background color

The padding is applied inside of the border and setting the background to anything does not override the border color.
