Expected behavior

To be able to git clone a repo without any questions (as was always possible).

Actual behavior

Why am I asked to run "Git Credential Manager"?

I'm trying to clone a repo that I am a member of, and have never needed to run some random and highly suspicious bloat ware, that is asking for total and full permissions to all my repos, to be able to clone a repo.

I have never accepted to install the git-credential-manager.exe, and see zero reasons to do so, and much less a reason to give it full write access to all my repos.

What's going on, and how to prevent this?
