"(Connection refused)" error #45

Hey giucam,

I've installed the most recent wayland-git, wayland-protocols-git and weston-git from AUR, and then installed orbital-git, however, whenever I run orbital-launch, it just gives me "(Connection refused)" as a most unhelpful error.

Any advice on how to overcome this? Is it a permission error, perhaps, where my user isn't the right group or something?

Cheers,
Valmar

orbital-launch is not working at the moment, try just running "orbital".

I've tried that from vt, also. It just gives me a broken desktop where the only things being displayed are the panel and pager applet. Randomly, I can launch the terminal sometimes. Sometimes, it just fully freezes.

I've tried starting it on kwin_wayland, and while it displays correctly, I cannot interact inside the window. Maybe I should try with weston, also.

The broken desktop is because of a missing icon theme. Use qt5ct to set an icon theme as explained in the readme. However the freezes should not happen... does that happen also when started inside X?

Running it X11, or using the X11 backend, works fine, without any problems.

I can also run Weston with the X11 backend, and then run Orbital within the nested compositor with the Wayland backend, and it works very smoothly.
