Publications with different versions / on preprint servers

General

There are 2 types of publications with different versions:

• Only updated in the same journal
  • Cochrane reviews: have different versions (same article number, different DOIs)
  • eLife
  • ...
• Publications on preprint servers: the final version may be published in another journal

Cochrane

DedupEndNote compares Cochrane reviews differently:

• if both have a DOI, only the DOIs are compared
• they have to be published in the same year.

Takes publications from: medRxiv, bioRxiv, ChemRxiv, arXiv, Research Square, and SSRN

With query "preprint[filter]" (or "preprint[pt]"):

• On 2021-10-18: 2748 articles
• On 2022-03-26: 3203 articles
• On 2022-08-09: 3456 articles

Notes

• Record has a field "isCochrane". Maybe this field should be renamed to "preferDOI" (or onlyCompareByDOI?)
• in DeduplicationService::compareStartPageOrDoi isCochrane records compare only for the same year. Is this also necessary for these preprint publications?
