New release v1.5.3

Sorry movement has been slow this few months but I've had some personal issues that required attention, hopefully everything will come back to normal soon. Progress is slow but we have awesome contributors that aren't afraid of getting their hands dirty! This release contains QoL for maintainers that will help a lot moving forward, some performance fixes and preparation for some breaking changes coming in the future. Thanks to everyone that helped in this release!
