Last year the Australian Government Design System decided to move the branding away from uikit.

I'd like to propose renaming this repo and possibly https://github.com/govCMS/uikit-bootstrap/ from govcms8_uikit_starter to something like govcms8_au_design_system

thanks @adamzerella - yeah, naming stuff is hard - we went for uikit, as that is how all of our clients (still) refer to it!

We'll have a look - have you got an approved/suggested shorter name than au_design_system

Yeah au_design_system is a bit of a mouthful.

Our team is using auds as the short name currently, maybe govcms8_auds_starter? The only problem with this is that it could be quite confusing to people not in the know...

There's nothing sticking us to one name or another but uikit is very dated

"UI Kit" is also the name of entirely different product, completely unrelated to govCMS or the Australian Government Design System:
https://getuikit.com/

I'd suggest govcms8_design-system - the au may be superfluous (both products are primarily targeted at an Australian audience), and the name would appear to be sufficiently descriptive and unambiguous ,whilst consistent with naming conventions used by both products..
