Filtering Metrics in Mimir Based on Source: Inside vs. Outside the Cluster

Hi everyone,

I'm currently running Mimir on EKS, and my Prometheus setup collects metrics both from inside the cluster and from external sources, configured via scrape_config.

I was wondering:

• Is there a way to configure Mimir to write only metrics from inside the cluster to its storage bucket?
• Alternatively, can I limit it to write only the metrics from external sources?

I'm looking for a solution that ensures only specific metrics (either from inside or outside the cluster) are persisted in the Mimir bucket. Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated!
