Search for the Foundations that would accept unsolicited request for funds #28
Comments
Thanks again for submitting this Ha. Wanted to let you know I added a new "Application Guidelines" section to the profiles that includes the 'unsolicited request' checkbox (among other helpful information contained in that section of the tax filing). Screenshot below, or see one live here. I'm still working on how best to add the info to search results and would love your insight. Any concern about false negatives? E.g. a donor checks that box to reduce the amount of inbound proposals, but in practice they do actually accept unsolicited proposals. Thanks! |
Thank you. It's useful for us grant seekers just to glance at the "Application Guidelines" section.
Cannot wait to see the how we can search for the Foundations who would accept the unsolicited applications.

Additional feedback provided: Will you please put "Application Guidelines" to the top of the page, on the left side? When we search for grants, we can just glance at the page and know that we are disqualified immediately, as the specific foundation only makes contributions to preselected organizations. The current way we have to spend time to scroll all the way down to Application Guidelines before finding out that we are not qualified. |
Added icon near top of profiles via grantmakers/profiles@41715b6 Next up is adding the icon to the main search results. |
One major challenge searching through many grants via Grantmakers Search is that some Foundations who will only accept preselected charitable organization, and do not accept unsolicited request for funds. The Foundations would indicate such practice on 990, Part XV, Item #2.
We want to search for the Foundations that would accept unsolicited request for funds via Grantmakers Search.
