Learn basic electronics to build a crappy robot and fight in a crappy Robot Wars style battle! Absolutely no skill needed. |
Anyone can build a robot... |

Hebocon is Robot Wars for those who are not technically gifted. Crappy robots that can just barely move will somehow manage to engage in odd, awkward battles. Bring along a robot or just come and watch.

Last year we ran London's first Hebocon, and now we're back for another!

We'll be providing a beginner-level electronics workshop and basic kit required, but feel free to bring your own or additional props (lamps, balls, robot toy dogs etc). |

Imagine Robot Wars. Now imagine Robot Wars if no one knew what they were doing. Hebocon is a robot sumo wrestling competition for the technically ungifted. Up to 32 robots will fight on an arena and one will be crowned victorious!
Not at all, and that's what makes this fun. We'll be running a beginner-level electronics workshop and will provide all basic materials to get some motors moving back and forward.
This is event is aimed at everyone - students, staff and members of the wider community. You do not need to be a Goldsmiths Student or Staff member to attend.
This event is run by Hacksmiths, the student-run tech society at Goldsmiths, University of London.
You don’t need a team to take part; it’s perfectly acceptable to create a robot by yourself. However, during the event itself, there will be opportunities to share ideas and connect with your fellow builders to form a team. There will also be a cap at 32 robots, at which point we may add peopl to your team.
Yes, and you must agree to it before attending. You can find it here.
