Is there a way to unfullscreen anything that is currently fullscreened?

I have a command that opens a submap, and the primary focus of this submap is changing focus, due to the fact that fullscreen windows changing focus doesn't unfullscreen the current window, it's very unclear where you're supposed to move if there was many windows that aren't fullscreened

Is there a way to create a bind that disables fullscreen if anything fullscreened is open?
