Editing image date doesn't get saved

The bug

I try to edit the date for a scanned photo in the info box, and when I do, then click "confirm", it doesn't change in the UI (and thus doesn't get saved).
Tried multiple times, and nothing gets saved. Then I tried changing the location first, and sometimes that allows the date to finally be saved. Sometimes, I need to do it multiple times.

Reproduction steps

1. click on a photo
2. click the info icon
3. edit the date by clicking on it
4. click "confirm"
5. Date is not changed
   ...
