The transliteration schemes seem to be missing the Vedic double tone svarita accent / mark:

Can we add this too?

svarita following a dIrgha mAtra automatically becomes a dIrgha-svarita no? Can you contribute a function which does this?

The rule is a bit more complicated than that as far I understand. For example, sometimes end of sentence svarita will also become double svarita. Then we may also need to provide flexibility for the authors to choose their own writing styles. It may be best for users to decide than converting automatically.

Created pull requests #11 and indic-transliteration/sanscript.js#41 to address this.

Copying a relevant comment from the closed PR thread:

Makes sense. You may also want to reconsider https://github.com/indic-transliteration/common_maps/blob/master/roman/itrans.toml#L91 due to similar reasoning. I propose something like !. Also, page 10 of http://ctan.math.illinois.edu/language/devanagari/velthuis/doc/manual.pdf could also offer some suggestion on how this is handled by LaTeX pacakges.
