Connect Github Account fails to connect

I've installed the latest version of the GitHub app in Microsoft Teams. When I open the GitHub chat, there's a "Connect GitHub Account" button. Clicking this button opens a new window with another "Connect GitHub Account" button. After clicking the second button, the window closes, but nothing changes on the screen. Any further attempts to interact with the app just prompt me to connect my GitHub account again.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or have any suggestions on how to resolve it?

I had the same issue, when using the iOS-app it managed to connect, so that is a workaround that worked for me at least.
