I don't know what exactly I did wrong. I assumed that Iris Docs would auto-save my doc. Consider:
-adding a visual indication of doc saved, and doc not saved
-adding a timestamp 'doc last saved at'
-adding a local save option/backup/export
-before allowing tab to be closed, add some failsafe/prompt "are you sure you want to exit without saving/publishing/broadcoasting your doc?"

Iris docs doesn't auto-save
Lost doc / Iris docs doesn't auto-save
Sep 12, 2024
what happened
Composed several paragraphs description of a FOSS project.
Shared with others via the share button (i.e. added npubs).
I closed out of Iris Docs.
I reopened Iris Docs, by trying both docs.iris.to, and also pasting the same link I had shared https://docs.iris.to/document/918b27dd-2aa2-4523-87f7-3c100668c082?owner=npub178f8235yg67wsah0ntqc6ddk4wxge7wxz6a4p49arce5dm9njhhsjvp3z0
Others I shared with could not access as well.
It seems the doc is lost 😥.
