Consider providing a standard directory structure for setting up the development environment #101

Defining a directory structure decreases the number of steps for new people to build packages, etc.

The development environment should provide a script that prompts the user for various things. Once all of the inputs are accepted, the script would create the necessary directories, symlinks, etc for the user.

All of this would be opt-in.
