Install under conda

Hi I am keen to add Isso to my website hosted on Netlify. I plan to deploy the db and run Isso from a box behind my firewall and allow the netlify site to reach the local server using a Cloudflare tunnel.

Q. is there a problem to do that?
Secondly I run all my python software using Conda, as PIP has caused me problems in the past. I activated a new Conda environment, then installed PIP in that environment then installed Isso.
However I have confused my self as to what I should use as the dbpath. Right now I use:

/var/lib/isso/comments.db

But i get a "could not open db". I'm super keen to get Isso going and to support the developers. I should add that although I can manage python, pandas, and even Holoviz Panel and YAML and the website runs under Quarto, I not really a programmer and generally follow recipes.

In particular I wonder if it would be better(simpler) to install using Docker.

Progress but not there yet.
After finding a the directory path the data base runs

However now I can't get the html file to run the javascript.
The HTML source, added to the test quarto website running on the same machine as Isso is:

      html file rendered

The "html rendered" line prints but the script doesn't seem to run
Isso does not write a "GET request" to the console as it does when I curl the file.

Any help appreciated

Thanks for the assistance. We eventually got it working and that is wonderful.

We found it was necessary to include:

 <section id="isso-thread" data-title="Test tag" ></section>

In the HTML configuration file that loads on the target page. Took a couple of days to work that out and examination of the js file.
I look forward to use of the commenting section on my website.
