Partial load in Microsoft Edge build16299 #24
Comments
Hi HeyItsDoug! That's strange. Give me till Friday to take a look. I'm sure I can find a solution by then. I'll try and find something sooner and if I do, I'll let you know |
Thanks for the prompt reply! I appreciate you looking into it. |
John,
I'm not sure what you could have done to fix my installed PDF Embedder
widget, but as of today the .PDF's are loading correctly in Microsoft Edge.
I'll continue to test them over the next few days as I add more .PDFs to
the site and will let you know.
Thanks
Doug

Good morning,
Ok so I guess I spoke too soon. The .PDF's still not loading in MS Edge.
They loaded a few times, but now, nothing. Have you had a chance to test
this yourself with MS Edge?
Thanks
Doug

Oh dang. No, I haven't but I'll take a look today |
I'm looking into things this very moment and should have an update for you relatively soon |
Let me know if you experience any issue when viewing this demo. |
The demo works fine on Edge. I'm able to view the .PDF.

Awesome. So remove the web and build folders and upload these new ones and it should work. |
Hi John,
Was there supposed to be a new widget as well as new Build and Web
folders? After I uploaded these new Web and Build folders it still does
not work on Edge. It also now doesn't work on Chrome either. See below for
screenshot of Zoom Level corruption on Chrome.
It does, however, work on Firefox (Latest).
Perhaps I missed something?

One thing I haven't done is test this from a different system located
someplace else, although I am assuming this wouldn't be a connectivity
issue.
Sorry to be a pest about this.
Thanks
Doug

Where can I see it? |
Here it is.....

Oddly, it was working a few minutes ago. But didn't work at all yesterday.
Maybe a driver or config issue on my end?
thanks

It shouldn't be tripped up by something like a missing driver. So it's on that page? Because I can't even find it in the code. If it's on that page, can you send the muse file to me [email protected] |
Well, no it's not on the landing page that I sent you. You have to click
on one of the safety sheet arrow icons to go to the actual page containing
the widget. I thought you might want to look at more than one instance.

Hi Doug. Did you get this working? It doesn't work for me at all. I have tried it on a live businesscatalyst site and also a live website. My ticket was closed even though it remains unresolved. |
Hi Goz83,
This continues to be an issue for me. On the example site I provided earlier(and below) I have 17 different pages and each is using an instance of this widget. In most cases, while using latest version of Edge, the PDF loads completely. But on some other occasions, it will not load completely. There appears to be no pattern that I can ascertain. I’ll click on the same page two times in a row and the first time it’ll load and then the second time it won’t. I will say, however, that the widget works perfectly on the other browsers I’ve tested it on: Chrome, Firefox, Safari. Heck it even works on an old version of MS Internet Explorer! I was thinking that perhaps file size had something to do with it but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
I have not heard from John in awhile but then again the holidays are a busy time for all of us.
Here’s the link.
John, any updates?
Thanks!
Doug

Thanks. My thread was closed without warning. My thread might be of interest to you, because it was a businesscatalyst site. John indicated that a business catalyst site won't work....even though it is technically a live website???? I also published the embedder on a "normal" live site, but it still doesn't work. The thread address is #23 I am really disappointed with the lack of support and all the time wasted delaying the launch of a clients website. |
Ok so today Microsoft Edge isn't loading any of my PDFs on the example site
I provided (here
<http://dmsbuildingmaintenance.businesscatalyst.com/safety-sheets.html>).
This site is still running on Business Catalyst but I believe John
mentioned that the PDF widget will not work through Preview in Muse but
will work once you upload to Business Catalyst. All three other browsers
work flawlessly with this widget on Business Catalyst. It's very sporadic
though. Sometimes the PDF will load completely and 5 minutes later it
won't.
Unfortunately I'll have to look for alternatives if this can't be fixed.
Hopefully John will chime in here with some feedback.
Doug

Hello,
This terrific widget is working in all other browsers except for Windows 10 Edge, build 16299. When the page loads containing the widget, the .pdf loading progress bar moves about half-way then stops. Oddly, the widget works fine on the older Internet Explorer, but not Edge.
Any ideas?

Thank you!
