I don't understand Jekyll enough to be able to do this myself yet, but it would be nice to convert this theme to light color. If anyone knows how to do this, please chime in.

All of the colours used in the theme are specified at the top of the stylesheet as variables.

You could start by playing around with those to see if you can get it to look the way you want.
