Side menu has strange artifact

Thank you for creating a very beautiful theme! I have been using it on my website, and I'm very pleased with how it looks.

However, when I open any websites that use this theme in Chrome, I notice a strange artifact on the side menu:

The text from the menu seems to linger for a second before disappearing. I have only seen this in Chrome (Safari appears to be fine).

I haven't been able to fix it myself, since I'm very new to Jekyll, HTML, and CSS. If you are not working on this repo at the moment, could you give me pointers about where to look to fix it?

Thanks for raising this, glad you like the theme!

The menu in this theme is actually a third party plugin called MMenu. I wonder if the issue is raised with them?

The javascript is included here.

My other suspicion is that it could be a CSS problem. I would expect the menu items to be set as invisible but it looks like they might not be. This could be an issue with the CSS in this theme, or upstream with MMenu.

I'm afraid I'm not actively working on this project so am not able to assist further. But if you get to the bottom of it I would be really happy to review a PR to fix it.
