Making the physical connection to the PT (Power Train) CAN-bus on a BMW G8x series vehicle is not too difficult. The CAN seems to be the same on all F and G series BMWs, as well as J series Toyotas, using the BMW engines.

- 22 awg JST SM 2 Pin Plugs
- 1/8 inch Cord Protector Wire Loom Tubing
- Heat Shrink Tubing
PT-CAN is located in the passenger side footwell. Using some basic plastic pry tools, you can expose the wiring harnesses. CAN-bus wires are always twisted pairs, making them easy to identify. In the case of the BMW G8x series, CAN+ (High) is Yellow/White and CAN- (Low) is Yellow/Black. Using Posi-tap Connectors so that the wiring harness does not have to disassembled, making sure to twist the wires. Heat shrink and wire loom to protect wire and have a very clean install.
