Patatap is a web visual soundbox : https://patatap.com/

A workshop idea would be to collaboratively recreate a Patatap-inspired Playground in Paysage, by having up to 26 developers work together, each one creating code reacting to a single keyboard key event ("you are A, I'm Z!")

Steps:

  • assign a key (A-Z) to each participant,
  • give them the basic code to react to a key press
  • task each participant with creating a motion visual and sound in one paysage object
  • participants are encouraged to spy on each others, to try and make their style converge… or maybe beautifully clash!
  • play on the Playground by pressing keys!
  • rotate key assignment ("you are R now!") and let participants build on another participant's code
  • play again :-)
