Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

If I open a project / workspace, I'd like to work in the project root and not have the full path from my home-dir to the project folder open.

Describe the solution you'd like

Double-click should open the folder as new root, exactly like the normal jupyterlab file browser.
Single-click in the file tree should expand/collapse the folder.
Also, a context menu with change to folder should be added.

Example taken from dolphin file browser:

Describe alternatives you've considered

Additional context

  • Python package version:
    0.2.2 installed from conda-forge

  • Extension version:
    jupyterlab-unfold v0.2.2 enabled OK (python, jupyterlab-unfold)

  • Operating System and its version:
    RockyLinux 8

Is any version of this behavior possible currently? I was a little disappointed upon installation that I couldn't change the "top-level" of the file tree
