I'm a fan of the musicnow which the author also created, however, I only need the "repair" and metadata part as I will be getting the files independently. With musicnow I didn't have to have any API keys or sign-up for any service, but still got nice results (due to google/bing searches?). However with musicrepair I'm not getting any results...
Are the functionalities different?

Sorry for the late reply.
The functionalities are the same, you will need the API keys for musicnow too. I just haven't gotten around to changing musicnow. (If you try it now, it won't work).
I'm willing to merge pull requests on musicnow to fix it.
This is because the spotify API wrapper that both these libraries use - spotipy has changed the way it interacts with Spotify. It now always requires keys.
