Decoding Herndon HLS for Freescape game releases for Amiga/AtariST

Following the discussion on #211, I strongly suspect Space Station Oblivion is using the Herndon HLS protection (if you want to play with it, Amiga IPF is here but I cannot find an IPF for the AtariST release, seems to be very hard to find). If you run a debugger in the decryption loop and dump the executable before it ends, you can find the following string:

SPACE STATION OBLIVION:
 HerndonH

This string is not part of the decrypted binary (which I can get using the debugger, but it is not a great user experience). I tried to decode the ipf using disk-image:

./disk-analyse in.ipf -v out.adf -f herndon_longtrack

But the result is not a decrypted binary (e.g. you cannot see the game text as I expect). Any help on how to do it?
