Incompatible PHP with 5.6

There are a number of modules that have old 5.3 code that pass vars by ref in functions:

sites/all/modules/views_datasource/theme/views_views_json_style.theme.inc
sites/all/modules/views_snippet/views_snippet.module

These should be updated and pulled to the server.
I have updated live on the server as they are contrib modules. (tmporarily to get the site working so we can migrate to the new server)
Hopefully updates will remove these issues and the live files can be overwritten

I have updated Drupal core and all the modules to the latest versions and added a patches folder with the patch required to get the site working on PHP 5.6.
